The Designer

When asked how she went from working in Finance to Fashion, Ruby responds with

an infectious laugh: "the right side of my brain finally decided to speak up."

Make no mistakes, this vibrant and hilarious young lady is slowly but surely carving

a name for herself in the fashion world and her journey is a testament to that.

While working as a Financial Analyst at Coca Cola, Ruby nurtured a jewelry

design hobby in her spare time.  That hobby quickly turned into a business,

something she admits was unplanned and unexpected but very much welcomed.

With participation in numerous shows, presence in a select number of boutiques and

an impressive customer base, a career in fashion started to feel more like a calling.

With a strong desire to expand into other types  of accessories especially those that

could  compliment her already  successful jewelry design venture,

Kua Designs Handbags was developed.

Three years later, so inspired by her passion for design, she decided

to enroll at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York,

an internationally recognized university for fashion and design.   Her constant quest

for excellence landed her a coveted internship with   Monet Jewelry - a subsidiary of

Liz Claiborne Inc.

Bringing it all full circle, her  cosmopolitan chic jewelry line is reminiscent of her 

experiences in different parts of the world while her handbag line pays homage to

her home country,  Ghana. From the humble beginnings of a kitchen table,

Ruby is honored to share Kua Designs.
